Supporting Wildlife Conservation

Mission Accomplished!

My Story

Growing up on a farm and living in the African bush, conservation is in my blood. Sadly though these magnificent creatures of our beautiful land are rapidly becoming extinct. We must recognise and continue to address the importance of protecting our wildlife.

In 2020, the evolution of the digital space during Covid opened up a whole new virtual world of possibilities for me. For the first time, I was able to show my support by participating in fundraising events.

I was born with cerebral palsy which has affected three of my limbs: my right arm and both my legs.

My Mission

To challenge myself to complete 750 squats in 8 weeks by using my electric wheelchair for support while pulling myself up into a standing position and bearing weight through my legs to squat.

Mission Accomplished!

I completed 100 squats in an hour every Tuesday for seven weeks and 50 squats on the Tuesday of the eighth week with the support and guidance of my trainer, Sean.

Through generous donations, I managed to raise £1,047.00 while receiving a great amount of support from well-wishers and inspiring some along the way to do their squats as part of their new exercise regime.

With sincere thanks...

Since the pandemic with organisations and charities having to find different ways raise funds, I can, for the first time, also participate in fundraising events. This gives me an opportunity to show my support and is also a huge step forward for all differently-abled people!

I am extremely proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and vital funds for Game Rangers International, which supports Rangers on the front line of wildlife conservation. I believe by taking on this challenge I have gained confidence and opportunities to explore other virtual events in the future and therefore raise awareness and funds for causes closest to my heart.

I would like to thank Game Rangers International for giving me the opportunity to show my support for their organisation.
