March In March Virtual Challenge 2022

Supporting Veterans' Mental Health

Mission Accomplished!

My Story

I am a disabled woman with Cerebral Palsy. This has affected three of my limbs: my right arm and both my legs. I cannot run a marathon or climb a mountain so trying to raise awareness and funds for causes closest to my heart is at the best of times impossible!

I support all who serve their country and try to give back to veterans in the best way that I can. I can appreciate and understand how suffering life-changing injuries both physically and mentally can impact one’s life. My disability has had a huge impact on my mental health.

My Mission

By using the same physical distance of 10 miles, I will use my Motomed exercise bike to cycle the same distance. Starting in Eddleston in the Scottish Borders and finishing at the Glencorse Barracks.

Mission Accomplished!

On the 5th of March 2022, I participated in my first virtual March In March challenge hosted by Combat Stress.

Starting in Eddleston in the Scottish Borders and finishing at the Glencorse Barracks I chose a road I travel on often as part of my March In March virtual route. By using my Motomed exercise bike I cycled the required distance of 10 miles non-stop in a personal best time of 69 minutes.

I am extremely proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and vital funds for Combat Stress and their amazing work in helping veterans with their mental health.

Through generous donations and huge amounts of support, I have managed to raise £1,045.00.

With sincere thanks...

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For a century they’ve helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression. The work they do is life-changing and often lifesaving.

I am extremely proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and vital funds for Combat Stress, who support veterans with their mental health.

I would like to thank Combat Stress for giving me the opportunity to show my support for their charity.
