Poppy Virtual Cycle Challenge 2023

Supporting Veterans and our Armed Forces

Mission Accomplished!

My Story

I am a disabled woman with Cerebral Palsy. This has affected both my legs and my right arm. Participating in physical events while trying to raise money for causes closest to my heart is at the best of times, extremely challenging and in some cases impossible.

Since 2020 Virtual Challenges have opened up a whole new world for me. To date, I have participated in several virtual challenges completing roughly 132 miles in total by using my trusted Motomed exercise bike! Now, I am ready and excited to show my support once again by taking part in a virtual challenge to support Poppy Scotland in the Poppy Cycle Challenge.

My Mission

By using my Motomed exercise bike I will cycle 21.7 miles nonstop starting at the Peebles war memorial and finishing at the Dalkeith war memorial. I have chosen this route because I am familiar with the area and both memorials. Not only will this challenge test my mental resilience, but it will also push my Cerebral Palsy to another level.

I have taken on this challenge to show my support for Poppy Scotland to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for veterans and our Armed Forces.

Mission Accomplished!

On Saturday the 29th of July and in my role as Fundraiser, I completed my virtual Poppy Cycle Challenge by cycling 21.7 miles nonstop in a time of 3hrs and 8mins.

Through generous donations and huge amounts of support, I was able to reach my fundraising goal to raise £1,000.00.

With sincere thanks...

Poppy Scotland provide support for current and former members of the Armed Forces as well as their families.

I am extremely proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and vital funds for Poppy Scotland.

I would like to thank Poppy Scotland for giving me the opportunity to show my support for their charity.
